A passion sparked… in Florida
It all starts with the family. While on vacation in Florida, they notice a phenomenon: one by one, tennis courts are being turned into pickleball courts. Curious, they give it a try. It's love at first sight for this sport that blends competition, accessibility, and camaraderie. Back in Quebec, an idea takes shape: what if we combined our love of sport with our entrepreneurial spirit? BOOMA was born.
Where does the name “BOOMA” come from?
The name has an origin as spontaneous as it is endearing. From a young age, the family's two sons had a habit of shouting “BOOMA!” to celebrate every victory — a winning point, a match won, a small everyday feat. This family cry of joy naturally became the name of the company.
